The dominance of video conferences

Web conferencing is a global phenomenon. It is changing the way business collaboration is conducted, it is transforming science and research and is taking distance education to a whole new level. In business video conferencing has helped to curtail budgets and keep communication easy. Remember the good old days when an international conference meant spending and hours wasted at the embassy? No longer do businessmen require visas, expensive air fare, accommodation fees to be paid for, not to mention the precious energy saved that was otherwise wasted on tiresome travelling. That’s not to say old school conferences don’t take place. There are some things that cannot be discussed via the internet, there are tradeshows to be attended although we are sure those will become digital pretty soon. Part of the reason is the availability of video conference software that is becoming easier to use, more cost-effective and efficient. In the past marketing software solutions were expensive. With the increase of mobile phone use one can predict a rise of web conferences conducted over hand-held devices anywhere the user is able to get hold of a broadband connection.
